In an effort to reduce waste and remain environmentally conscious, the University has entered into two recycling programs.
The first and most aggressive is an all fiber recycling plan that includes, paper, cardboard, newspaper, phone books, envelopes, junk mail, etc. Employees are encouraged to use their existing waste baskets as fiber-only containers which can be picked-up daily by the custodians and placed in recycling bins at each building. Other non-recyclable materials such as food waste, plastics, etc. are picked-up by the custodians and deposited in the existing garbage containers. It is important that participants be careful in sorting the recyclable material as contaminants cause problems for the recycler.
The second recycling program is a paper-only plan, designed to enable the campus to dispose of its confidential documents at no cost. The following procedures should assist you in handling the recyclable materials:
1. Department name 2. Contact Name and telephone # 3. Room # where paper is located 4. Number of boxes
